Berlin Buzzwords was a blast. I presented “Using HBase Coprocessors to Implement Prospective Search“. The talk was well received and attended by 200+ people.
Using HBase Coprocessors to Implement Prospective Search – Berlin Buzzwords – June 2012
My personal highlights were the talks from Ted Dunning about “Real Time Datamining and Aggregation at Scale” and “New Directions in Mahout“. Ted is a fantastic and charismatic speaker. He reassured us that a Ph.D. is not necessary to use, or even contribute to Mahout!
Berlin Buzzwords covers a wide range of store, scale, and search topics. The 40 minute talks were well suited to in-depth explanations. I found the 20 minute talks were definitely too short to explain some concepts though. I think they would have been better with a longer timeframe.
All in all, the conference was fantastic, well organised and I think a success. I want to thank the Berlin Buzzwords team for their awesome job.
See you next year!
